This script consultancy service is specifically designed for writers who are writing, or have written a television situation comedy.

1. All advice offered, whether verbally, electronically, or by any other means, is the personal opinion of Charles Garland. No guarantee of success, nor of any gain or future earnings whatsoever is promised or implied from acceptance of such advice.
2. All material submitted for evaluation is done so on a basis of mutual trust. Copyright remains with the author at all times. Charles Garland, and any employee or associate of sitcomscript.com undertakes not to utilise nor discuss publicly any specific content of work submitted by clients. Clients should note that writers in general are liable to use ideas and subjects drawn from society, history, or known social structures. It is common for many writers to use the same theme, idea, or background material. Neither Charles Garland nor employees or associates of sitcomscript.com can be held responsible for similar ideas or works created by Charles Garland, employees or associates of sitcomscript.com or any other writers appearing on screen, in print, or in any other format.
3. It should be noted by all prospective clients of Charles Garland, and sitcomscript.com, that it is established in law (Hughie Green vv ABC c.1975) that it is not possible to copyright an "idea". Any instance of similar ideas being developed by other writers, companies or broadcasters should therefore be viewed as co-incidence, with no recourse in law applicable by any third party.
4. Scripts and other material submitted to Charles Garland, or to sitcomscript.com should be copies and not original works. No responsibility for loss or damage of any material can be accepted by Charles Garland nor any employee or associate of sitcomscript.com.
5. By submitting work for evaluation or advice, a client agrees that neither Charles Garland, nor any employee or associate of sitcom.com has any obligation other than that set out in the "Services" section of the web-site. No additional advice is offered, nor promise of assistance in offering the client's work to third parties, production companies or broadcasters for consideration is given.
6. Charles Garland, and employees and associates of sitcomscript.com and Charles Garland Productions Ltd undertake to treat submitted work in confidence, and with respect. Reports will be returned to the client, together with original scripts (if a s.a.e. is provided) as soon as is possible. However, there may be times when Charles Garland is in production, or running a course, or on holiday, when unavoidable delays will be inevitable. If these delays are likely to extend beyond thirty days, the client will be contacted by Charles Garland to discuss the situation. Claims for a refund by clients can only be considered for reasons of unreasonable delay in receiving reports, and never because of the content of reports.
7. All contents of the web-site, and written reports created by Charles Garland remain the copyright of Charles Garland, sitcomscript.com or Charles Garland Productions Ltd.. No unauthorised copying, distribution nor broadcast of any material is permitted under any circumstances.
